shallow ponderer
Am I to dwell in the clear shallow pond of
mud crabs and guppy fish
Or venture into the deeper salty waters
where sun and sea collide into a shimmering brilliance
To wade or dive or test the tide
will there be any signs when we go underwater
(stop, go, let it go)
will the fear of sharks and drowning
Leave us
never being more than a trail of footprints in the sand
washed away by gentle morning tide
unknown, unthought, unseen
washed away by gentle morning tide
unknown, unthought, unseen
who amongst us all will be brave enough
or foolish.
to seek of mermen and the unknown treasures they bequeath
who will choke on the waves of the everlasting cyclic movement
or swim back to shore, unscathed. Unchanged.
who will never be seen again
never stopping,
riding against the undertow of life,
far away,
into the brilliance of the dazzling sun
Yonder
Yonder
