Dear Madam,

I have recently been told that studying (du shu) is prohibited during chinese new year. This is due to the fact that the chinese pronunciation of "study"sounds similar to "gamble and lose". Thus, to boost our economy and expand our circular flow of income I have decided not to study or more famously known as "gamble and lose" for this Wednesday's Economics Test. Hopefully, I did not just "gamble and lose" my passing grade in the test.

Hi everyone, i wish i could say that my 2012 started with a BANG. But.... I can't.... You know when you have a boyfriend you have these grand plans to celebrate your first new year together and go on the flyer at midnight and reach the top of the small island you live in with fireworks exploding all around you like a magical disney movie. Well, in the real world or at least in my world, there was no such cosmic attraction. Grouchy, tired and hiccoughing, I felt like death. E thought i was going to keel over and die in the middle of the crowded road. Therefore, we mutually decided to go on the flyer at 8 instead (it was equally as magical btw fyi even though i sat on the floor and watched the city revolve around me through misted glass BUT still M A G I C A L.). Being positive people, we decided to watch iron man and the fireworks together at home instead. Unfortunately, after eating a wonderful supper of tom yam soup and pineapple rice, I fell into a coma. When the clock struck 12 in the year 2012, my wonderful boyfriend ended up watching beauty and the beast and the 8 minute broadcast of fireworks by himself while holding his dead (to the world) girlfriend's hand. By the time the lazing panda woke up, it was 1 and it was the scary part of Beauty and the beast where the villagers were going to kill the beast so Panda Kai Kai said "i wanna go home now."
